Wanting to offer excitement and variety to art lovers and to support the work of the island’s most famous artist – 1928. To celebrate the erection of the sculpture of Amsterdam Olympic champion Voldemar Väli, Estonian Art Auctions Ltd will bring 40 works by well-known and highly appreciated Estonian artists to the charity EESTI MOODSA KUNSTI OKSJON on 29 July at 15.00 in Kuressaare Kuursaal.
The auction includes works by Leonhard Lapin, Jüri Arrak, Enn Põldroos, Kaljo Põllu, Olav Maran, Malle Leis, Raul Meel, Peeter Allik, Jaan Toomik, Jaan Elken, Lemming Nagel, Kaido Ole, Marko Mäetamm, Robin Nõgisto, August Künnapu, Raoul Kurvitz and others. The works date from the 1970s to the present day.
The final item of the auction will be the 1936 Berlin auction by the head of state Konstantin Päts to Voldemar Feld. a. an engraved dedication of the Olympic bronze medal winning Omega gold pocket-urion, the historical value of which is hard to overestimate for Estonian sports and history lovers.
The auction exhibition is already open to all art lovers and the works can be viewed in the KINOSAALI of the Kuressaare Kuursaal as well as on eestikunstioksjonid.ee. Participants are welcome in the Kuursaal Cinema Hall 29. July. Doors open for viewing and registration at 14.00. The run starts at 15.00. Pre-bids for works can be made from 21.07. at 15.00.
